The Fred Sacco Memorial Scholarship

In honor of the legacy of Fred Sacco and his dedication to the community, Armstrong Beer Distributing Company will award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Senior of Armstrong Jr./Sr. High School who played football for a minimum of three years, including their senior year.  This individual must also show a level of dedication to the community in which he/she resides.  This scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis, or as funding is available.  The scholarship will be awarded based on current or prospective enrollment, financial need and acceptance to an accredited technical or vocational school, university or college, with funds to be used toward receiving a degree.  The scholarship award will be paid directly to the individuals’ choice of school.  Prospective award winners will complete an application that will be reviewed anonymously and voted on by 3 individuals of the Fred Sacco family.

The Blue Collar scholarship

This scholarship was established in the first year of our program.  It was created in honor of a former player, Jack Stall, who played in the 1960’s.  This scholarship is awarded to a player who takes academics seriously, as well as athletics, and planning to attend college,.  This player demonstrates tremendous leadership and effort at all times.  The recipient is chosen by the coaches and is funded by the River Hawks Football Boosters and is valued at $1,000.

The Armstrong Four Quarters River Hawks Student Athlete Business Scholarship Orange Award (funded by The 700 Shop)

The Armstrong Four Quarters River Hawks Student Athlete Business Scholarship Orange Award is a yearly scholarship presented by the 700 Shop in the amount of $700.  It is given to the student athlete who gave the most effort throughout his senior year. From the first day of football camp to the last play of the final game of the season, this student consistently gave 100% to his team.

The GO BIG or GO HOME Scholarship

The GO BIG or GO HOME scholarship was established in 2017 in memory and to honor Shawn Klingensmith for his dedication as a strength coach.  This scholarship is awarded to a senior football player that gives his/her all on and off the field. The recipient will be chosen by the coaches and will receive a $1,000 scholarship to the college, trade school, or apprenticeship that they choose.
